Baruch Foodies
Welcome to Baruch Foodies, a blog dedicated to the person with an appetite for food. This blog is aimed to give you a unique perspective of the food scene in New York City. As students at Baruch College, located in the heart of the City, we understand what it’s like to live in the city and be surrounded by great restaurants, great cuisines, and great cultures. We are four authors, each with our own special take on places to eat as well as some homemade dishes for when the wallet or the time is tight. Please look through this blog and feel free to comment and share this blog with your friends and family.

Ippudo
Dying to try authentic Ramen, I headed midtown to Ippudo on 51st street between 8th and 9th ave. After eating here, I can never eat instant Ramen the same way ever again. I ordered the Akamaru Modern Ramen, which kicks up the original pork broth up a notch by adding Ippudo's secret miso paste. The broth is absolutely to die for. It's extremely flavorful, you can definitely taste the pork that simmered in it for who knows how long, and the garlic oil makes you salivate as soon as you get a whiff of it.
Ippudo is the perfect place to go for lunch or dinner, especially for students. Their Ramen prices range from $15 to $18, without any added toppings. You can go there with friends, or you can go by yourself. Service is friendly and quick. I was seated right away with my friend when we entered half an hour past dinner time opening. Don't be too startled when the whole restaurant greets you when you're being seated! (I know I was.) The greeting captures Japanese culture, and also makes you feel extremely welcomed. The waitress was very nice and asked us how we enjoyed our meal and didn't pressure to rush us out even though a large crowd was forming at the entrance.
Overall: Extremely recommend! Affordable and tasty! You won't regret it.
