Baruch Foodies
Welcome to Baruch Foodies, a blog dedicated to the person with an appetite for food. This blog is aimed to give you a unique perspective of the food scene in New York City. As students at Baruch College, located in the heart of the City, we understand what it’s like to live in the city and be surrounded by great restaurants, great cuisines, and great cultures. We are four authors, each with our own special take on places to eat as well as some homemade dishes for when the wallet or the time is tight. Please look through this blog and feel free to comment and share this blog with your friends and family.

Asian Gourmet

This week my sister and I went to Asian Gourmet at Flushing near the Booth Memorial Hospital for lunch. We always passed by the place, but never actually tried it, so we thought yesterday was a day as good as any. The place is small, so it is easily crowded, even at 2:30 which we went in for, but eventually by 3, everyone has petered out. We ordered the lunch special, each $7.50. My sister ordered grilled pork chops and I ordered eggplant. Honestly, the food was not worth the price and the menu was a bit expensive.
However, the drinks were really good. My sister order Dream of Peach at $4 and I ordered the taro smoothie at $3 and I know their bubble tea is $2.50. My taro smoothie actually tasted like taro, and not the powder kind and was very filling. The Dream of Peach was smooth and sweet, but not overly so. We saw a lot of people walk in to order drinks to go, which is what I am probably going to do if I have a hankering for bubble tea and nearby the area.
