Baruch Foodies
Welcome to Baruch Foodies, a blog dedicated to the person with an appetite for food. This blog is aimed to give you a unique perspective of the food scene in New York City. As students at Baruch College, located in the heart of the City, we understand what it’s like to live in the city and be surrounded by great restaurants, great cuisines, and great cultures. We are four authors, each with our own special take on places to eat as well as some homemade dishes for when the wallet or the time is tight. Please look through this blog and feel free to comment and share this blog with your friends and family.

This pizza is what New York dreams are made of! The BEST pizza in NYC – hands down. Actually, the best pizza I've ever had - including Italy! (BUT, the ambiance and food reminded me of Naples!) The crust is thin and tasty, the tomato sauce is perfect (the only word that does it justice). Try the prosciutto and arugula pizza which is “holy freaking delicious!!” or get the 18” pie and try a “half and half” combo pizza, where you can pick options for two pizzas which are combined onto one pie. My favorite combo is “The Diavola” – tomato, mozzarella and spicy Soppressata, (it’s like a pepperoni pizza but with some heat) and the “Capricciosa” – tomato, mozzarella, mushroom, ham, olives and artichokes. They use green olives! The ingredients are all high quality and the taste is top notch. The pizzas come in 3 sizes - 14", 18" and 29". If you need to share a pizza between 2, get an 18". (or just get an 18” each!) The 18” is served in a rectangular shape on a long wooden board, it is served piping hot straight out of the oven. They have pastas and salads on the menu as well but this place is all about the pizza! I love the outdoor seating which has a few tables in the front of the restaurant on the side walk. You are able to eat and people watch. This is a perfect place to sit down and eat/talk for hours. The location is on a side street in the West Village which is surrounded by great architecture - a cathedral is right across the street. The street itself feels like it hasn’t changed in 40 years. You will find many locals with strong New York accents laughing and chatting nearby. It has a real “old New York” feel without being overwhelmed by tourists. They also play classic rock music such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, but the volume level isn’t disruptive. Make sure you get the ice cold Peroni beer to wash down all this New York City pizza goodness!
